Speers Point Park (Park Road, Speers Point) - behind the swimming pool) facilities includes a playground, BBQ areas, shelter areas and stage areas. This park is often used for annual community events . There is a leash free area to exercise your dog. This park includes:  The Lake Macquarie Variety Club All Abilities Playground - for children of all ages and abilities. It includes wheelchair accessible equipment, as well as decks, ramps & climbing frames/net, spinning equipment, swings, BBQs, water play, 9 metre spiral slide, totem poles for the visually impaired. It is very child friendly and is fully enclosed with child proof fencing. Public toilets are located just outside the playground The Climbing Tower and Double Flying Fox - for the more adventurous child. Circuit Zone - tracks for kids to learn to ride their bikes safely.  The best parking is at the end of Creek Reserve Road via the Five Islands roundabout. Green Point Foreshore Reserve (Cardiff Point situated between Belmont and Valentine).  Spectacular views of Lake Macquarie with gas BBQs and composting toilets.  All dogs, leashed or unleashed, are strictly prohibited. Croudace Bay Park (Thomas H Halton Park) (Macquarie Drive at Croudace Bay). BBQ area, playground, skate park, toilets, wetlands, boat ramp, shelter, plus a walkway/cycleway.  This park does include leashed and leash free areas to exercise your dog. Rathmines Park (corner of Dorrington and Over Hill Roads).  This park has full picnic facilities, playground, boat ramp, jetty, electric BBQ, toilets. This large open foreshore park also includes a war memorial and rose garden. Belmont South  situated on the Pacific Highway at Belmont South, this waterfront park includes a boat ramp (off Paley Cres) and electric BBQs as well as a children's playground and public toilets. Croudace Bay Park - (Macquarie Drive, Croudace Bay). A foreshore park contains shelters with fixed tables and chairs King Edward Park  (a Newcastle Park on Shortland Esplanade) includes heritage rotunda which is a popular spot for weddings. There are beautiful flower gardens and the park overlooks the Newcastle coastline. A popular spot for whale watchers.
